Goals on the Double

It's that time of year again when I realize that there are somehow only 6 weeks left until Christmas and my list of goals and aspirations for the year hasn't gotten any smaller. Shit.

Every January I sit down and make a list of 10 goals for myself for the upcoming year. Mostly because I'm Type A, but also because I've found that if I don't write it down, it doesn't get done—truly. The other day I pulled out my 2017 list and realized that, ummm, I need to get to it if I want to end this year on a high note. Goals on the double! 

While I list out 10 goals, I know that realistically I'll only knock off 5 or so. I set my expectation for hitting 50%—and hey, if I can do more, great. If not, I'm not going to beat myself up about it—I gave that up a long time ago. Life is a lot easier when you show yourself kindness instead of criticism. 

At the rate I'm tracking though, it looks like I'm not even going to hit 5 if I don't put in some overtime in the next few weeks. Here's the short list of what I'm shooting to check off before the ball drops:

  1. Write & illustrate a yoga sequence for each season (I still need to do Fall and Winter)
  2. Write 33 blog posts and make a logo for The DzenLife (13 posts and 1 logo to go!)
  3. Have a private consultation with an Ayurvedic practitioner (this HAS to happen, it's been on my list for YEARS. I'm thinking it'll be my birthday gift to myself)

I'm sharing this because...accountability! The more people I tell, the less likely I am to slack off. And also because get ready, there are a bunch more blog posts in the queue.
